FileVoyager Goes 64-bit !
A major milestone for FileVoyager: after months of effort, FileVoyager is now available in a full 64-bit version!
This migration involved adapting large portions of the codebase and external components to fully support modern systems, while maintaining full compatibility with your files and workflows.
The 64-bit version brings improved performance, better stability, and the ability to handle large datasets and heavy workloads more efficiently.
⚠️ Note: The 64-bit version is now the primary target of development and has been, and will be, more thoroughly tested. While the 32-bit version remains available, its support and testing will gradually be reduced over time.
New Audio Visualization Engine: BeatDrop
Another highlight of this release is the integration of BeatDrop, a modern, standalone implementation of the classic MilkDrop visualization engine, developed by Maxim Volskiy. Check it out here: https://github.com/mvsoft74/BeatDrop
It replaces the outdated Sonique visualizations, which had become increasingly problematic in recent systems.
In FileVoyager, the BeatDrop integration comes bundled with a curated selection of presets, handpicked from thousands — all delivering mesmerising, often downright hypnotic visual effects.
️Other Improvements
This release also includes numerous improvements and fixes, especially in the file and folder comparison tools
- Performance boost in the Folder Diff module
- New options to ignore reparse points, junctions, and hard links
- Switched from Bing Maps to Azure Maps in the map viewer, due to Microsoft’s deprecation of Bing Maps
- Enhanced overall stability with several critical bug fixes
